Writing’s Roots (#1480)

I must return to my roots,
Where I grew my first leaves and shoots,
It’s quite imperative that I must return,
For it’s there that I started to learn,
What it was to live and to write,
Where I experienced that innocent delight,
I must again be one with my heart,
And to do that I must go back to the start,
I want my writing to again be an absolute joy,
Like a child with an unwrapped Christmas toy,
Sadly, my writing no longer carries that appeal,
I want to again feel that child-like zeal,
The biggest question boils down to how,
How can I recapture the fireworks and the wow?

Any Thoughts?
