Writing Is Hard (#1166)

Here I sit hammering out an idea so rough,
You’d think the job of a writer wouldn’t be so tough,

But it’s more than what the movies portray,
It’s more than jotting down a few words and calling it a day,

It’s about plot points and character arc,
About making fire from a tiny spark,

It’s about showing up every single day,
And writing even when the muse is away,

There’s a truth about writing that most disregard,
I hate to break it to you, but writing is hard,

Like any job or entrepreneurial art,
It takes commitment, time and lots of heart,

Any Thoughts?
