Unfolding Pandemic (#1758)

The Coronavirus is on every TV screen,
The CDC and our government say to self-quarantine,

Larger companies ask their workers to telecommute,
Now many smaller ones are following suit,

Kids switch to e-learning as schools close,
They say for two weeks but who really knows,

Restaurants and small businesses close their doors,
As more and more customers decide to stay indoors,

Those who get laid off or can’t work rightfully lament,
Because now they have no way of paying the rent,

The stock market continues to bounce and crash,
As the federal reserve tries to stem the backlash,

Nations around the world shutdown their borders,
Their citizens suffer restrictions under government orders,

As death tolls and confirmed cases continue to rise,
It’s clear we don’t understand this pandemic’s true size,

Any Thoughts?
