Tybee Island (#1456)

I stand immersed in water looking out at the sea,
The dark blue waves crash against me,
The shore behind me is only meters away,
On my face, I can feel the ocean spray,
The smells of the salty sea air are in every inhale,
My son plays in the sand with a shovel and pail,
The warm ocean winds blow through my hair,
Seagulls squawk and soar through the air,
The pavilion and pier are well within my view,
As well as the beautiful sight of the endless blue,
Just out of range the dolphins surface and descend,
And silhouettes of ships at the horizon’s end,
The beaches are alive with sunbathing and play,
Sand dunes stand firm, and seagrasses sway.
