To Fly (#1084)

It takes a certain type to fly,
To get on a plane and go miles high,
To leave home sweet home far behind,
Yet keep loved ones on their mind,
To leave the safety of the solid ground,
To listen to the engines roar to life with sound,
To feel the force of takeoff and sit idly by,
To look outside and see endless clouds and sky,
To see the ground much like that of a map,
To put one’s trust in the pilot and take a nap,
To take to flight like driving in a car,
To experience the journey near or far,
To have the courage to even try,
It takes a certain type to fly.
