Sudden Storm (#1407)

In the distance, the gray skies flash,
Suddenly open, the rain starts to thrash,
Unannounced winds kick up and whirl,
The force of the storm ready to unfurl,
Tree branches swing and sway with intent,
Leaves and small limbs fall to the cement,
River-like run off charges the streets,
Windows hit with horizontal rain sheets,
Crackles of heavy thunder bellow overhead,
My poor cats run and hide in utter dread,
The power flickers but manages to stay on,
Then just as suddenly as it came, it was gone,

Any Thoughts?
