Strained Friendship (#1447)

I can see that her smile is merely painted on,
And that her real smile is very much gone,
Reasons as to why are too many to count,
But needless to say, things haven’t worked out,
Of course, I’d like to help make it more real,
But sadly, I’m part of the traumatic ordeal,
She asks me to be open and honest with her,
And when I am, she’s black and blue in a blur,
Like a wild animal, I can easily turn and bite,
But all we seem to do lately is churn and fight,
I’m tired of it, and I don’t want to do it anymore,
I don’t know what our friendship has in store,
Our friendship is already distant and strained,
I honestly don’t know if it can be retained,

Any Thoughts?
