Steering the Ship (#1974)

The more I push back against the rising tide,
The more I wound my waterlogged pride,
My ego says I can control the outcome,
But that erroneous notion is just plain dumb,
Rough waters I can do my best to navigate,
But there will always be stuff I can’t anticipate,
Even so, I can at the very least man the wheel,
It’s a semblance of control even if it’s not real,
That’s far better than being adrift any day,
I may not control the outcome by I have a say,

Any Thoughts?
