Shades (#44)

How pretty are the shades of the midnight sky?
Artists fail to capture but always seem to try,
Such beauty wrapped in the whispers of the wind,
Adorned with diamond dust delicately pinned,

How pretty are the shades of the midnight sky,
Upon seeing such a sight how can anyone reply?
What subtle swirls of black, blue and gray,
The skies are truly an awe-inspiring display,

How pretty are the shades of the midnight sky,
No wonder the ancestors go there when they die,
To simply be there or dance among those stars,
Or stare up at them and catch fireflies in jars,

How pretty are the shades of the midnight sky,
It’s a fact no being on earth could deny.
