Ruby-throated (#1978)

Hummingbirds flutter
outside of my desk window,
looking for danger,
all the while trying to taste
the feeder’s waiting nectar.

  1. ive never thought of a hummingbird seeking danger? maybe in approaching the human spaces. anyway, nice writing!

    1. Ryan says:

It’s more of looking for possible danger. There are other hummingbirds that try defend their territory, not to mention we’ve got a few stray cats outside looking for a snack. Lots of dangers out there! Thanks for reading. 🙂
