Risky Trip (#1789)

We had a difficult decision to make,
It was a risk we were willing to take,
We travelled to see family and then the beach,
Fully knowing we’d be within the hurricane’s reach,
We watched the storm change and sway,
Would it hit or would other factors keep it at bay?
Our visit with family went rather well,
So, we decided to go to the beach motel,
Despite rip currents we had two lovely days,
Then early morning the hotel said we had to part ways,
The storm had been upgraded overnight,
They told us to go to ensure everyone remained all right,
Saddened and anxious we packed up and left,
I understood why but I still felt bereft,
We knew this was a possibility when we came,
Still, it’s disappointing all the same,

Any Thoughts?
