Proud (#81)

‘Twas the night when everyone stood,
When all clapped as loudly as they could,
Awards were given, and speeches were made,
This was to be a memory never to fade,
Out from many, she walked with pride,
She was happy; it wasn’t something she could hide,
After all was said and done,
The colors were rested and with it the night’s fun,
Afterward, I lost her in the crowd,
I didn’t get to tell her that I was proud,
Others and I know she had done well,
No matter the obstacles, she never fell,
It is an honor and privilege to love such as she,
Being proud of her I’ll always be,
