Murder Most Wrong (#748)

What is the ultimate cost of taking the life of another?
What words of apology can you offer their mother?
That the gift of life bestowed them is now defiled,
That you, YOU, have taken the life of their child,
How do you handle the pangs of such remorse?
Do you see your actions as poisonous and coarse?
How is it that you can live with what you’ve done?
Having taken the life of someone’s daughter or son,
Does your heart grow cold or do you actually grieve?
Do your actions make you question what you believe?
