Dark Light (#493)

I’m the dark walking the light,
Outside I’m day; Inside I’m night,

I may portray bright and cheery,
Yet inside I’m damp and dreary,

I can’t always be rainbows and unicorns,
Sometimes I slip and show my cuts and thorns,

Smiles and laughter always fade,
And so, ends my masquerade,

Never disclosed which mask I wear is real,
Never shared how I really feel,

I show only what I chose to show,
The truth no one else shall know,

Outside I’m day; Inside I’m night,
I’m the dark walking the light.
