Coffee Shop Writing (#1883)

For the first time in well over a year,
I wrote in a coffee shop without fear,
Sure, the concern played in my head,
But I didn’t worry about ending up dead,
Despite COVID-19 still on the loose,
The lobbies have been reopened for use,
While the virus is still somewhat concerning,
I’ve felt a little more comfortable returning,
The idea no longer ties my stomach in knots,
Mostly because I’ve had my vaccine shots,
New CDC guidelines were pushed out,
They said masks we can go without,
I’m happy about that change but wary,
I guess a killer virus will always be scary,
I don’t know that I’m ready to fully return,
But it is something for which I yearn,

Any Thoughts?
