Poem #1689

Laptops

I enjoy coffee shops as a backdrop,
But why does everyone have a laptop?
I’m the only one with notebook and pen,
Am I considered an antique then?
I’m certainly no Luddite or anything close,
I just prefer something less grandiose,
There are no distractions in my paper pages,
And its reliability has been trusted for ages,
I never lose my work or forget to save,
Nor to a power outlet am I a slave,
It can go wherever I please,
I need not worry about a computer freeze,
Technology has its purpose and place,
Just not in my writing headspace,
