Stuck In Between

I can’t hide from the feeling because it’s right,
The truth behind it has a stinging bite,
I should trust my instincts more,
But my fear prevents me from going through the door,
There’s a path I’m supposed to walk,
But I get choked up and can’t even talk,
My head and heart aren’t in the same place,
The gulf between them feels like so much space,
My identity is entangled in the outcome,
It’s a question of who I am and what I’ll become,
It’s not a matter of making a choice,
But which side of me has a louder voice,
