Poem #1662

Salty Love

I love the fizzle after a wave’s crash,
And the subsequent rush and splash,
I love the shifting white, blue and green,
And the salty air mixed with sunscreen,
I love the wide expanse of greyish white sand,
And the swirls of orange up and down the strand,
I love to see the pelicans and seagulls fly,
And the menagerie of kites up in the sky,
I love the grasses on the sand dunes that sway,
And the plovers as they hunt their prey,
I love what being at the ocean does to me,
For I can’t imagine my life without the sea,
