The COVID-19 stuff really impacted my reading. For the last few years, I’ve been doing most of my reading by listening to audiobooks during my commutes to and from work. With COIVD-19, my work went full-time WFH, which meant all my commutes went away. Now, I’m not complaining about my commutes going away! Far from it! But I quickly found that I missed listening to the stories.
Remember how I purchased a set of wireless earbuds a few weeks ago? I’m happy to report that they’ve definitely helped me catch up on my audiobook listening. While I can’t listen to the books as long as I can in the car, I’ve been listening to them during the little spaces throughout the day like while cooking or washing dishes. I finally finished the book I had just started listening to back at the start of the COVID-19 mess. That puts me at 10 of 29 books finished from my 2020 reading list. That’s 34% complete when I should be closer to 50% by now.
I don’t know how long we’ll continue to WFH but I’m certainly going to continue my audiobook reading with these wireless earbuds. They’ve helped me up my reading again and I’m happy for it. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to start reading the next bread shop mystery book. Wish me luck!
