Music: Siouxsie And The Banshees – Spellbound
Location: Home at last!
Since my son’s call time was the same time I normally get back from my Starbucks trip, I opted to stay home this morning. I fixed myself some breakfast and headed downstairs to my office to keep working on the poetry journals. I knocked out about four and made them available on the website before we had to go take him to the magnet band building. I’ve still got a ton more to do. My poor wrist! We tried to feed him beforehand, but he didn’t want to eat. I’m pretty sure he was waiting till he got to the stadium to hit up the concession stands. For whatever reason, he loves getting food and drink from them.
After dropping him off, we drove down to Morrow to eat lunch. It was nice to have another dinner date with my wife. We got back home in time to relax for a few minutes before having to head over to Tara stadium for the performance.
Oh man! It was hot. My backside doesn’t like bleacher seats, especially not for three plus hours. We brought our bleacher seats, but that didn’t make much of a difference. My wife also brought her umbrella, thank goodness! Even with her umbrella, we managed to get a little burned around the edges. Our band played against Forest Park. They did pretty well, but the other team was talking smack about them. Needless to say, the air condition in my car was on full blast on the way home.
We beat the band to the school but not by much. Our son flashed us his arms as he walked inside the magnet building. He looked like a lobster from his elbows down. The back of his neck too. He says it doesn’t hurt, but I imagine it’ll feel stiff pretty soon. We grabbed a quick bite for dinner and headed home. We’re all tuckered out! Too bad I no longer am able to work from home on Mondays. Tomorrow would have been a good day to do it. I love getting to work from home. It’s the same about of work, but there’s no commute, and I get to sleep in an hour longer. That commute is killer!
I don’t think I have the juice to do much more tonight.
