Music: Weird Al Yankovic – “The Saga Begins”
Location: Home Office
I’ve been listening to a lot of John Williams scores today because it’s Star Wars day. I’m a huge fan of the original trilogy. I wasn’t madly in love with the prequels, but I still found a way to enjoy them for the most part. But this last set? Meh. It’s a mess. I hope this next movie can fix all the damage they’ve done to the franchise. This parody pretty much sums up how I feel about Star Wars right now:
I didn’t work on The Collector last night. In fact, the whole night didn’t quite go as planned. My son’s practice was supposed to last longer than normal. Since he was occupied the wife and I had a dinner date, but to our surprise, we got a text message as we left the restaurant to come pick him up. It was a good thing we were still around town! We had talked about going down to Morrow but had opted to stay nearby just in case. We grabbed dinner for him after picking him up and then headed home. I was going to start on The Collector, but I changed my mind.
I took down all the PDF versions of my short stories and poetry journals that I had put up. There’s a couple of reasons behind it. The first is that I can’t tell if someone reads something when using PDF files. I want to know if people are reading! The second was a bit more disturbing. I had just blacked out my personal info in the PDF, but apparently, that info was still accessible if someone truly wanted it. That was enough for me to pull them. Instead, I’ve been working on posting the content as pages on my website. That fixes both problems, and honestly, I like the aesthetic much better this way.
I managed to get all the stories and a couple of the poetry journals re-worked last night. I got another batch of the poetry journals done today during my Starbucks time this morning. I’m going to try to get a couple more in tonight and hopefully a few more done tomorrow if I can before his band performance. As you might have noticed, there was no mention of Avengers End Game in there. That’s because when we looked for tickets, the only seats available in almost all the showings were the front row. That is NOT the location you want to be, especially for a three-hour movie. My neck just hurts thinking about it. We think we’ll probably be able to go next weekend. Then again, we might be going to the Renaissance Festival that weekend. What can you do?
We did book our next trip to the beach today. It’ll be later this month. I was on the fence about booking it since it’ll be the day after I have another software release, but there’s not a better time to go this month. I need some beach time!
