Music: Emilie Autumn – “Chambermaid”
Well, it took over 4 months to do it, but I finally used up all my Starbucks card funds this morning that I had amassed over Christmas. I think that’s pretty damn good considering when I go I always get a drink and either breakfast or lunch. I’m no longer going to my East Point Starbucks because it’s almost always too full for me to get a seat at a reasonable hour. Instead, I’ve been going about 2 or 3 miles out of my way to go to the Cascade Starbucks. The staff is great, and so far, I’ve never had a problem getting a seat inside. I think most of their sales are coming from their drive-thru, which always seems to have a line. For that, I don’t mind going a few more miles.
I had another night of weird dreams. They aren’t nightmares, but they’ve been waking me up non-stop. I’m not sure what’s going on with that. I’m sure that my brain is trying to process something or everything and is having a hard time with it. Work? Writing? Percy’s death? Friendships? I don’t know. I’ve been tempted to write them down to make sense of them, but they are just too screwed up to even articulate. I’m sure they will work themselves out in time, but in the meantime, it sure makes me want a nap during the day.
I finished Camera Obscura by Lavie Tidhar this morning on the way to Starbucks. This book was better than the first book in my opinion but felt super long somehow. I’m saddened to say the payoff at the end just didn’t do it for me. It just felt blah. Normally, I’m drawn to read the next installment in most series that I get into, but that’s not the case with this series. I can’t explain why. I’ll still go on to read the next one, but I’m indifferent about it, which is very strange. According to Goodreads, I’m 62% through my reading list for the year, and we’re not yet quite halfway through the year. That’s pretty good, I think.
I’m thinking I’m going to make it an Avengers kind of day. Even though I could probably start that next story, I think I’m going to go back into the LEGO box again. I’ve been putting off building the Sanctum Sanctorum, which has the final Infinity Stone I’m missing to complete the Infinity Gauntlet. I think after I leave here, I’ll go home and get that started. Then later today, we’ll go and catch Avengers End Game. I don’t know how long it’ll take to finish the build, but I imagine it’ll take longer than the movie, which is about 3+ hours from what I hear. That’ll make for good Saturday, especially with it raining outside.
It’s an exciting life, isn’t it? Hehe.
